Light Talk with The Lumen Brothers

LIGHT TALK with The Lumen Brothers (And SISTER!) is a place where lighting designers can feel free to express what really annoys them about the industry and the art of stage lighting design. Inspired by the beloved NPR radio show, CAR TALK, LIGHT TALK with The Lumen Brothers features the musings and rantings of David Jacques, Ellen Lampert-Greaux, Dennis Size, Zac Borovay, and Steve Woods. These five theatre artists have been producing and designing the live stages and broadcast events of the world for many, many decades. Burnt out and abused by the industry and the insanity of the profession, LIGHT TALK with The Lumen Brothers takes the rantings of these four theatre artists to the world. Look for our regularly scheduled Podcast discussing the issues of our time. Nothing is Taboo, Nothing is Sacred, and very little makes sense. Welcome to LIGHT TALK!

In this episode of LIGHT TALK, the Lumen Brothers talk about everything from Designing Rep Plots to Rising Software Prices.  Join Steve, David, and Stan as they pontificate about: How to keep trash and crap out of your floor pockets; clearing the way for actors and trucks; flying booms and ladders; designing rep plots for thrust theaters; energy emanating from the center of the stage; lighting systems for thrust rep plots; using moving lights in the rep plot; filling in the actors' face while keeping light off the audience; hanging on to your C-wrench; feats of strength, an uncommonly good looking man, James Taylor; David's pig accessory; mosquitos, Vectorworks' recent price hike; understanding your customers; and Strand Fan-Boyz!

Nothing is Taboo, Nothing is Sacred, and Very Little Makes Sense.
