Light Talk with The Lumen Brothers

LIGHT TALK with The Lumen Brothers (And SISTER!) is a place where lighting designers can feel free to express what really annoys them about the industry and the art of stage lighting design. Inspired by the beloved NPR radio show, CAR TALK, LIGHT TALK with The Lumen Brothers features the musings and rantings of David Jacques, Ellen Lampert-Greaux, Dennis Size, Zac Borovay, and Steve Woods. These five theatre artists have been producing and designing the live stages and broadcast events of the world for many, many decades. Burnt out and abused by the industry and the insanity of the profession, LIGHT TALK with The Lumen Brothers takes the rantings of these four theatre artists to the world. Look for our regularly scheduled Podcast discussing the issues of our time. Nothing is Taboo, Nothing is Sacred, and very little makes sense. Welcome to LIGHT TALK!

In this episode of LIGHT TALK, the Lumen Brothers cover everything from theater design to hair sculpture.  Join Steve, Stan, and David as they pontificate about the genesis of the VL1000, lasers and LED's, Jim Waits passed out on a bus, working in ugly theaters, the new Elation Professional Dali fixture, PAR-Strips on the Balcony Rail, working on odd productions, runway shows, where are all the internships?, hungry hound dogs, the subtlety of Bosch, oatmeal and creamed spinach, shortening a Source Four with a chopsaw, working in Russia, weird jobs, Heaven Sent, racoon eyes, Jo Anne Worley, and is it possible to have a lighting design career... and a family?  Nothing is Taboo, Nothing is Sacred, and very little makes sense.
