Light Talk with The Lumen Brothers

LIGHT TALK with The Lumen Brothers (And SISTER!) is a place where lighting designers can feel free to express what really annoys them about the industry and the art of stage lighting design. Inspired by the beloved NPR radio show, CAR TALK, LIGHT TALK with The Lumen Brothers features the musings and rantings of David Jacques, Ellen Lampert-Greaux, Dennis Size, Zac Borovay, and Steve Woods. These five theatre artists have been producing and designing the live stages and broadcast events of the world for many, many decades. Burnt out and abused by the industry and the insanity of the profession, LIGHT TALK with The Lumen Brothers takes the rantings of these four theatre artists to the world. Look for our regularly scheduled Podcast discussing the issues of our time. Nothing is Taboo, Nothing is Sacred, and very little makes sense. Welcome to LIGHT TALK!

In this episode of LIGHT TALK, the Lumen Brothers (and Sistah!) interview legendary touring guru, Steve Terry. Join Anne, David, and Stan, as they pontificate about: the genesis of Production Arts; hiring and not firing Stan; Spiderman; Bus and Truck touring; 489-0312; unbelievable chutzpah; working closely with and helping designers; venture capitalists in the lighting rental business; working with Gordon Pearlman on the LS8; ragging DMX 512; The USITT Standard; 250 kilobits per second!; interoperability; The ACN Project; running the R&D Department at ETC; testing multi-cable; ENR flammable dimmers; General Device Type Format; All My Sons; just show up and say "Yes"; and learning how to become a Mensch.

Nothing is Taboo, Nothing is Sacred, and Very Little Makes Sense.
